Private officers email distribution list

Hei igjen,

You may have noticed that the earlier email I sent withe the heads-up message (and this one) came from a system called DadaMail. This is a system I maintain on the Lodge webserver. Rather than each of us maintaining our own distribution list or entering every address when we wish to send and email to all the Lodge Officers, I have set up one list that we can all use.

Any email sent to officers@PROTECTED will be sent to all 11 list members. This is a private list, that is only email coming form a list member will be processed. This makes this distribution list Spam proof, as any email coming from any address not in the list will automatically be rejected.

Here are a couple of things you should know about using this list:
  1. If you Reply to a message from this list, it will go only to the person who sent the original email
  2. If you Reply All, it will go the list AND the person who sent the original email. That means the originator will get two copies. If someone does a Reply All again, multiple people will now get a copy. You can see that this can get messy fast.
  3. If you want to reply to the full list, do Reply All, but delete the address of the original sender from the To field so everyone only gets one copy.
  4. There is one exception to the only members can send rule. That is, I can create an explicit list of other senders. This is helpful to any of you who have more that one email address. If you want to be able to send form an alternate address, please let me know that address. 
  5. All email sent through this list will come from webmaster@PROTECTED. If you found this email in your Spam folder, put the webmaster@... in you address book. This will help your system understand that you want email from this address.
